Nissan Team Answers Facebook Fans' Questions on the Juke R

There's no question that the Nissan Juke R is by far the craziest, official manufacture project we saw this year, and how could it not be when a team of engineers shoehorned the entire drive train and then some more of the almighty GT-R into the firm's odd-looking small crossover.

Not surprisingly, Nissan is trying to milk as much attention as it can from its creation with a constant stream of news and videos.

In this latest clip, the team responsible for the development of the Juke R answers several questions about the car that it received from fans on its official Facebook page. You can watch the clip and find out what they answered right after the break.

Nissan Heads to 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon with 10 Models Including Skyline 55th Limited Edition

The 2012 edition of Japan's largest annual aftermarket event, the Tokyo Auto Salon, will see Nissan in cooperation with its in-house tuners Autech Japan and NISMO presenting 10 models, most of which we've already seen in previous shows such as the Juke NISMO Concept that was displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show earlier this month.

Nissan will showcase two models, the GT-R Pure Edition equipped with the right-hand drive only Track Pack and the JDM Skyline (sold in the rest if the world as the Infiniti G37) 55th Limited Edition, which commemorates the series' 55th anniversary and features bespoke aeroparts and a sportier chassis setup.

Nissan's quest for Youtube views continues with the 10th installment of its web-based video series that follows the development of the most awesome and powerful Juke made to date, the GT-R-powered Juke R project car.

Having done showing us the styling aspects and the building process of the Juke-R, the Japanese firm is now focusing on the fine-tuning and the testing of the 485-horsepower crossover on the track.

Nissan Juke-R Video No9: The Finishing Touches

There's no question that Nissan is milking the hype surrounding the Juke R as much as it can. Up until now, the Japanese automaker has published nine videos (including the one you're about the watch after the break) on the building process while it also issued separate footage and a gallery on the finished product in between.

This week's footage is called "Finishing Touches" and as the name suggests, it shows the teams from Nissan Europe and its technical partner RML applying the last parts on the GT-R-powered Juke including the dashboard and centre console inside and a matt black paint scheme that's both vinyl-wrapped as well as painted on the outside.

Nissan has big plans for its in-house motorsports and performance arm, Nismo, as the Japanese company announced earlier today that it wants to use the sub-brand's expertise to create a variety of sports cars based on the company's mainstream models on a larger scale.

We're going to get a taste of what this means for Nissan with the presentation of the Juke Nismo concept at this week's 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.

New Nissan Juke Nismo Concept Sports up for the Tokyo Motor Show

Nissan just couldn't wait for the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show on Wednesday to share the news on a fresh concept version of its Juke crossover prepared by its in-house motorsports and performance division, Nismo. Unlike the extremely radical Juke-R project, which features the inner works of the GT-R sports car including its twin-turbo V6 engine and advanced all-wheel drive system, the Juke Nismo concept is a very realistic study for a down-to-earth sporty variant of the regular model.
“The global sales success of Nissan Juke has proved beyond doubt that customers are looking for something different,” said Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President of Nissan. “The Juke Nismo Concept takes that idea to the next level. It’s energetic, distinctive and highly desirable.”
Nismo's technical team started out by tuning the Juke's 1.6-liter direct injection turbo gasoline engine that has been uprated to deliver more power and performance, though Nissan didn't provide any specific numbers. For the record, in standard JDM trim, the four-cylinder engine produces 190-horses.
They then proceeded with the chasses that was lowered and stiffened using parts of the same kind that will be available from Nismo’s parts catalogue. The 19-inch multispoke alloy wheels with wider tires round out the performance improvements.
No tune is complete without a visual makeover, and Nismo doesn't disappoint with a new aero kit that bundles a revised front bumper and grille, side skirts, wider fenders, side skirts, a new roof spoiler, different mirrors and a bespoke rear bumper that houses a diffuser and the twin chrome exhaust pipes. The Juke Nismo is finished in a white paint with red highlights.
We won't see the interior until Wednesday, but Nissan tells us that the Juke Nismo's cabin has been upgraded with several sporty touches that include the steering wheel, pedals, gauges, shifter knob, door trims and bucket seats.
