The last couple of days, the sixth-generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL roadster has been one of the hottest subjects on the web – and rightly so, as it introduces several new technologies that will eventually trickle down to the premium automaker's other models.
There's a lot to mention, but one of the highlights is the aluminum bodywork, which significantly reduces weight and has a positive effect on both agility and handling as well as fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

We saw theintroductory videotwo weeks ago, and unfortunately, there's not much new to see in this one. We get some good looks at the exterior of the test mule, though for some reason one shot of the the car out on the course has theATSblurred out.
Perhaps the best part of this new vid isn't the footage at all, but something that Chris Berube, lead development engineer, says: "If I had to describe the ATS to someone, I'd really focus on the low mass."

The automotive press has speculated that the Escalade nameplate may move to the Lambda crossover platform.
